Blood is collected fresh at the beginning of the week prior to shipment.
Surcharges will apply where sterile products are required.
* Blood in Al severs Solution is mixed at a 1:1 ratio and the quantities listed are total volume (eg. 50mls of blood in alsevers contains 25mls of blood and 25mls of alsevers).
* For anti coagulated whole blood, please specify the anticoagulant you require (eg. lithium heparin, sodium heparin, citrate, EDTA etc).

STERILE DEFIBRINATED BLOOD
These products are primarily intended for use as enrichment additives for prepared bacterial media.
The blood is defibrinated during collection using a unique foam sponge as a fibrin collector. Using a gamma irradiated closed PVC pack and tubing system the blood is collected , pooled and is transferred into sterile PVC blood bags (luer outlet) or dispensed into PET bottles in a laminar flow cabinet. These products are sterility tested and a final QA certificate is supplied after 5-7 days.
The products below are standard volumes. Other volumes may be provided upon request.

Plasma & Serum
These products are collected from normal healthy animals , and are designed to cater for specific purposes particularly in research laboratories.
All products are aseptically collected from donor animals by venepuncture. Abattoir collection is not carried out routinely , but please call us if ‘industrial’ volumes are required by this method. Whilst we do not assay for endotoxin , we know from experience that aseptic collection into sterile containers gives a product which is appropriate for most uses.
These prices reflect collection and processing only but please enquire for a quote where special conditions, treatments or analyses are required. Some products will be readily available but waiting periods may apply in other cases.
When ordering plasma products the preferred anticoagulant must be specified (eg. heparin, citrate , EDTA etc).
These products are frozen. For freshly collected serum or plasma , shipped on ice , please contact us for availability.
Prices do not generally include filtration or sterility testing. Please specify if this is required.
